Okay, so on the 3rd I started cleaning my room (Watch it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0pxD25GnFs ) by putting everything into piles. Then I didn't touch it for a few days. Now I'm back! And oh man did I make progress!! Seriously my room hasn't been clean in 5 years. And it's been 3 years since I could sleep in my own bed. This is just incredible for me. I can't wait to finish it up today. It's going to be amazing. So don't let your messy space get you down- if I can clean my room, so can you! Enjoy! In case you have a horribly messy/kinda-hoarders room in your house you need to clean here's the steps I followed. You will need: Boxes for items to keep. Boxes for items to donate. Giant trash bag. Music playing if you need it. (Make it songs you know so you're not caught up in the lyrics!) Step 1: Separate everything into piles as much as you can (clothes, toys, shoes, papers, etc.) Step 2: Go through clothes/closet. Do a basic run-through of what you want to keep and donate everything else. Then put your closet in order/any drawers of clothing you have. Step 3: Choose a pile and go through it. Put items you want to keep in a box, items you want to donate in another box, and trash in the trash. Step 4: Repeat step 3 through all the piles/sections of your room. Step 5: Put all your donate boxes in another area- you don't need them in your room. Better yet, take them to be donated! Step 6: Put your keep boxes in the room and vacuum/dust whatever needs it. Step 6.5: (optional) Rearrange furniture if you want to, and switch up everything if you want. Step 7: Once you have cleaned the rest of your space begin to unpack the "Keep" boxes. YOU MUST FIND A PLACE FOR EVERY ITEM. If you don't have a place, you have to get rid of it. And your room is CLEAN! Ta-Dah! This process can take a few days to complete, so set small goals for yourself so you feel like you are accomplishing something. Give yourself breaks when needed, and just keep moving forward. It'll be worth it in the end.
