As I walked through the kitchen, I noticed what a terrible mess everybody had made. Oh well, lots more cleaning for me to do! Then the cooking, which I don't really mind, I mean it's not as if anybody else will do it. I'll do all this, and clean the hut, then I get to take a bath in the lake! It's so fun! Exploring is so much fun, when you get to spend time in a jungle! Oh, but... I'm in the top class for Geography, but I can't remember the name of the Jungle we're in. Uh, it has the same name as a shopping website... um, it begins with A... oh, sigh. I can't remember. The trip leader told me that I'm the smartest student she's ever met, but she wouldn't guess it, because I'm apparently very ditzy. Ditzy... am I ditzy? Hmm, I wonder what she meant by that... OH! That tree frog is just the cutest thing I've ever seen!! Anyway, where was I? Oh yes. "Hum, hum... washing is fun fun!" I sang softly, while scrubbing the plates, eradicating them of food. "Evie, are you done?" The camp leader came through the kitchen, asking, kicking off her dirty boots. "Oh, I'm nearly done." I replied, smiling happily. Miss Morrison nodded, removing her explorers hat shortly following that, letting down her shoulder-length chocolate curls. She sat in the rocking chair. "Say, Miss Morrison... what's the name of the jungle we're in? I forgot..." I asked, blushing a little. "Amazon, silly. Geez, you're so forgetful." She said chuckling, while getting up, walking to the door.Oh yeah, that was it!! "Oh, and... where are Ollie and Miranda?" I quizzed, wondering where they'd run off to, this time. "They're out, getting all muddy and dirty. Ha, they're like three year-olds." Miss Morrison laughed and turned around the corner, to walk out the door. Miss Morrison is so wise, I want to grow up to be like her! I didn't really mind the fact that I didn't see my family often, well hardly ever, but traveling, or exploring as we like to call it, is so amazing... especially when you're with your two best friends. I guess you could say that this is the lifestyle that suits me, since I get to explore, learn and have fun while doing so. I'm only 16, so it's a good time to jet off to different countries! I continued to scrub, until the last plate was sparkling. "Evie! C'mon! Why are you still cooped up in here, come outside!!" Ollie and Miranda sprinted through the hut, yelling, slathering the floors with sloppy mud from their boots. "Oh, guys! I've just cleaned there!" I exclaimed, laughing as they ran over to me. "Please come and have some fun! You're always doing everyone else's chores!" Miranda begged. "Well, I'd love to, but I can't... I need to clear this mess up now!" I chortled. "How about..." Ollie began, then hugged me tightly, rubbing all of his mud off on me. "Eww! What the!" I gasped, giving my dirty overalls a once over. "Now you'll have to take a break and come in the lake with us!" Ollie giggled. I sighed and shook my head, smiling. Miranda and Ollie each took one of my hands and ran out into the jungle, pulling me along also, the three of us laughing loudly. We all sprinted to the lakeside, in a row of three- Miranda on the right, Ollie on the left, and me in the middle. We kicked off our trekking boots, and on the count of three, jumped up into the air, and landed in the lake. We splashed each other playfully, and I hopped onto Miranda's back, while Ollie tried to grab me, but I dodged. Many of the other explorers hopped in the lake and began playing, some of them washing off the mud and dirt. After a while, "Everyone, finish up in there! Dinner is almost ready!" Miss Morrison called out to the student-explorers. Oh, someone had cooked dinner, instead of me, oh well. "What're we having?!" Ollie asked frantically, rushing out of the lake. "We're having lots of grilled steak and vegetables. Ah, we also collected tons of berries, to make smoothies." Miss Morrison explained. Ollie's eyes literally lit up. I swear, that boy is always hungry... Everybody seemed to pile out of the river, in huge swarms, as if the food was disappearing anytime soon. We all dried off, and changed into baggy t-shirts and shorts, or strap tops, what ever the guys and girls were in the mood for. After a long day of work, we all looked forward to our dinner. It arrived at about 7:00. "Mm, man... I'm starving!" Ollie said, licking his lips, as the leaders brought dinner to our tables. Everyone sat and dug in, enjoying the food that tasted so much better out in the Jungle. Okay, so... I'm super sorry that I've been messing you guys around so much, with stories and all! But I couldn't seem to make my mind up, and I wasn't happy with anything I was writing. Please tell me what you thought! :D xoxo
