[please comment subscribe] SELENA It was no surprise that I was the first to be done getting ready. Unlike everyone else, I had picked out the simplest outfit: a purple, long sleeve mini-dress with yellow heels, and my hair had been pulled up into a high ponytail to reveal the diamond studs that were hanging on my earlobes. My make-up was also fairly simple. I had asked Trisha, the make-up artist, to outline my eyes with a a black liquid eyeliner, gloss my lips with a natural color, and skip the blush. Simple and fast. I had about an hour to kill. Meanwhile, my nerves were ragged sacks. I had never done this before,--hanging out with big rockstars, I mean--and, unfortunately, everyone else was too busy to give me some tips. For example, how was I supposed to stand, sit in a chair, chat with an artist? How was I supposed to know all these things. I decided to distract myself by touring Cyrus's house. It was enormous, and it was very fancy. Everything was white, and when I say everything, I mean everything. From furniture to electric appliances to the color of the walls and floors, every single element of that house was as white as snow, which gave me the urge to stay away from everything, so I wouldn't get it dirty. There were three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a sitting area, a dining area, a living room, a recording studio, and a dressing room, where everyone was getting ready. It wasn't the biggest house I've ever been to, but it was surely one of them. I finally took a rest in the kitchen, where I poured myself a glass of water. I wasn't going to let myself go crazy. I took deep breathes as I started to feel better when Nick came through the sliding doors. "Hey," he mumbled, looking fancy in his dark jeans and green vest. "You okay?" "Yeah, why?" I snapped, defensively. "You seem kinda troubled," he admitted as he circled around the island, coming closer to me, every step crushing my nerves. "Of course, you would know this, how?" I snapped again, setting the half-empty glass into the sink. "Oh, come one, Selena," he finally roared back, getting way too close to me. "We were best friends. I know you inside-out--" "No, you don't!" I interrupted him, pushing him back with abrupt force. "You never had, and you never will, and I'll make sure of that!" "What the hell happened to you?" he confronted me when the rest of the band, Cyrus, Emma, and Tay walked in the kitchen, all wondering what was going on. "You used to be so sweet and welcoming. You've turned into such a sore." "Well, I guess that's what happens when you're heart is crushed!" I snarled. "Get over it, Selena! So, I didn't like you back. There are plenty more guys out there--" "Shut the hell up, Nick! You know this has nothing to do about my feelings. You definitely took advantage of them, didn't you, though? You knew you would win that bet with Jack, because I would never have sex with him. And when I came to you for sympathy about almost being raped, you took advantage of me! You knew I would sleep with you because of my feelings towards you, and you fucking won that bet!" "Wait, what?" Taylor cut in. "You told me he only ignored your cry for help." "Well, I lied," I said bitterly, feeling all of their stares pin me down. "Oh, don't worry, Selena," Demi flared, striking Nick with one of the coldest stares I had ever seen in my life. I didn't know she could be so alarming. "At least you didn't stop at about one-fourth of the story. Nick, on the other hand, only mentioned the fact that you had feelings for him, and that he turned you down." "Whoa, whoa," Nick fought back. "You're blowing this way out of proportion. I never made a bet with Jack. Who the hell told you that?" "He did," I said quite taken aback. "He said there was a bet. He lied?" "He was jealous that I won you over, Selena, of course he lied." he stated in a as-a-matter-of-fact-tone. "Afterwards, I only turned you down, because I knew that sleeping with you at such a venerable moment was wrong. There was never a bet." "Well, what the hell was I supposed to think after you walked away?" I defended myself. "It all fitted together. You never explained, either. You just walked away," I said, trailing off. Suddenly, I became very conscious of everyone else watching us during this conversation.
